Bitcoin Advocate Drives Through Europe in BTC-Themed Van
Ariel Aguilar is driving across Europe in a Bitcoin (BTC)-themed van called La Bitcoineta to spread awareness of cryptocurrency adoption. The Argentine Bitcoin proponent has encountered both highs and lows on this journey through nearly a dozen European nations.
Midnight Search By Law Enforcement
On the transition from Serbia to Lugano, Aguilar waited until midnight to cross the border which prompted suspicion from border and customs officials. An unmarked vehicle manned by five officials stopped the van for a search as they thought it may be involved in people smuggling. Luckily Aguilar was cleared after no evidence of wrong-doing was found.
Positive Reactions From Strangers
Aguilar has received positive reactions from friendly strangers on this trip as well – thumbs up signs were seen coming from Switzerland at the sight of La Bitcoineta cruising past while those in crypto-friendly jurisdictions like Spain and Portugal seemed oblivious to its presence.
Future Plans For La Bitcoineta
La Bitcoineta will continue its tour across Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia with plans for a UK visit in September before heading off to Madrid, Amsterdam and other European cities.
Conclusion
This tour serves as an opportunity for greater exposure of cryptocurrencies around Europe whilst also providing us with an insight into the highs and lows one can experience when travelling with bitcoin-related projects.
