Bitcoin Conferences
The world’s biggest Bitcoin conferences, Decentralize with Cointelegraph, took place in Miami and BTC Prague this week. Despite taking place on different continents roughly two weeks apart, the themes and discussion points overlapped. 15,000 Bitcoin enthusiasts attended the Miami event while 7,000 attended the Czech capital event.
Future Trends
Thought leaders discussed future trends such as ordinals and “toxic” Bitcoin maximalism at both events. Participants compared notes on the future of Bitcoin inscriptions known as ordinals , and some lamented the rise in “toxic” Bitcoin maximalism .
Mainstream Adoption
The goal of both conferences was to increase mainstream adoption of bitcoin. U.S presidential candidates, companies like eToro and even Stanford professors were present at these events indicating a growing acceptance for cryptocurrency within global society.
High Energy & Building
Bitcoiners attending were notably high energy but also slightly exhausted due to their busy building activities . Obi Nwosu CEO of Fedimint commented that: “Everybody is really high energy, but also slightly exhausted because they are so busy because so much building is happening; so much stuff is coming back to Bitcoin or extending on Bitcoin.”
Christmas Dinner Atmosphere
Christian Anders CEO of BTCX further said: “It’s so nice to attend a Bitcoin conference because it’s not just a conference – it’s like a big Christmas dinner.” Both events demonstrated an enthusiasm from attendees for interacting with like-minded entrepreneurs who believe that bitcoin can change the world for better money .
